We like this hotel, close but not on the beach, very quiet at night, lots of
parking. From the hotel we can walk almost anywhere in Penticton, close to the
channel. Nice pool, mini park for kids, free internet, good breakfast, almost a
family feeling. Rooms are, however, a little bit dated.

Average hotel. Close to beach. Hall carpets looked dirty but other parts of
hotel looked well maintained. Pool was clean and observed staff doing water
tests.

We stayed at the days inn for 4 nights when we were in town for a wedding. The
hotel and room were clean and suited our needs for our stay. Worth the
$98/night. No complaints!

We booked at the last minute to take advantage of their $88 last minute special
and that's what the room was worth. As others have stated, the building is old,
but it is clean and the staff were good. Painless checking in and when leaving.
The "free" breakfast is great if you can get by with a coffee and a bagel.
If you're looking for a destination resort type of place, this isn't it. If you
want a clean room at a decent price, it's OK.

The ladies at the front desk were very helpful moving us into a room with a
balcony overlooking the pool rather than the parking lot. It is a 2 storied wood
building and we were on the second floor, no elevator. Glad to be up there
because the floor squeaks when you walk. I can't imagine how loud it would be
during the Summer when it's full of kids in the pool.
The room was a nice size with a fridge but no microwave. The bathroom was big
enough to have a sink but in was in the room instead. Breakfast buffet was
passable but nothing to make you go back. A restaurant is on the property but no
menu in the room, walked down to it on the Monday and found out it was closed.
On the second morning about 7:00 the fire alarm went off then stopped and went
off again. Stept out into the hall and an employee walked passed, doing some
investigating it turned out, he didn't say a word, just as if I wasn't there.
Anyway, it kept on ringing and shutting off for over an hour. On check out it
was kind off laughed off by the front desk.
I will try someplace else next time.

Decent breakfast but busy , everyone seated at large tables
A good 10 mins walk to downtown Penticton but pleasant to walk along shore line,
good area for visiting wineries

Booked at this hotel because we were booking last minute and our plans were kind
of up in the air and the better hotels in town (Coast, Ramada) didn't have any
rooms available. The rate we paid was $143 before tax which I suppose isn't bad
for a vacation town in July but the public spaces and the room were really not
worth that much. This hotel is two storeys but doesn't have an elevator, has an
indoor and an outdoor pool but both close at 9pm, has outdated furniture and
decor in the rooms (tacky brass lamps with forest green pleated shades) and
spotty wifi. I'm not sure about all rooms but ours didn't have a desk; instead
there was a small dining table and two chairs which was not ideal for working on
a computer. The TV was an old CRT type, the toilet paper provided was the worst
kind ever and it was under lock and key and there were only flimsy plastic cups
in the room, no real glasses.
The room did have a small fridge that included a freezer which is good if you're
travelling with a cooler and want to refreeze your ice packs. |
