I go up here with 3 or 4 of my grandchildren at least twice a year. Well I was
not able to make it up in November and then in December my sister was killed by
a car. Well the staff called me to tell me how sorry they were about what
happened and then have sent a card to me also. They made sure to send me the
paper announcements as well. This is really taking it to the highest limit
possible. They were there when my Dad passed away in August and they sent their
condolences to me then. They have been great to me and my grandchildren and I
will continue to go there still for holidays.

They are such great people there. My father was very ill and they asked me each
time how he was doing. When he passed last month they all signed a card and sent
it to me. This is what I call a place to go for a holiday, it is like going and
seeing family. They treat you like family and treat my grandchildren like
people. Thank you for all of your thoughts. I will be back again and again. This
is the only place I will stay in Vernon. They help the grandchildren with their
breakfast and even go out of their way to make sure they enjoy their stay. They
ask us if there is anything we need and talk to us. they always ask if we need
more towels or pillows. I do not have to worry about anything when we come up
and stay there. Thank you again for thinking of me in my time of sorrow. It was
very much appreciated.

My family stayed here at the tail end of our trip. Our room was right in front
of the swimming pool area and I was worried about the noise from swimmers. I
didn't get to hear any. The room was big with 2 queen sized beds. It was
outdated but comfortable. They had a box type TV with cable channels. Free WiFi.
The coffee machine was strangely located on the writing table which was near the
entrance to the room but at the far end away from the sink. Breakfast was not so
bad. They had make your own waffles, cold hard boiled eggs, pastries, etc.
I liked this place because it was right in front of the strip mall with
Starbucks, a minute away from Walmart and another strip mall, Wendy's right
beside it, 5 mins from the City Centre.

I don't know if the hotel had renovations since the bad/negative feedback but I
was dreading checking in when I read the past feedback on here and my room is
big, very very clean and the staff were super friendly with our team's parents.
Breakfast room is a bit small for anyone travelling with a team but you can
bring it to your rooms. The bathrooms are on the small side but spotlessly
clean.....
Don't let the past feedback stop you from staying here...we are mostly in the
pool area rooms and it worked out really great for our team.....
After having stayed here we would definitely return if we could book the same
area rooms...as for it being loud....it is no louder than any other hotel with a
pool area etc...the only thing I found was the ice machine was super loud but
that can't be heard from inside my room...just when sitting around the pool
area...not a big deal at all

At check in they had lost our reservation so we had to take a room with one bed
for the three of us. There was a fold out couch and when we opened it there was
a dead bug laying in the middle of the mattress. The bathroom door and wall was
filthy. Be warned that the rooms surrounding the pool are extremely noisy and
that voices carry like you wouldn't believe. At 7:00 am our first morning it
sounded like there was a party going out outside our door. There are some tables
and chairs near the pool area that people use to eat breakfast and visit at in
the early morning. People are either unaware of how badly sound travels in that
area or simply don't care, but I can tell you it was LOUD. On the positive side,
the hotel is in a convenience location across from a mall and grocery store, and
they do offer a basic continental breakfast, as well as an indoor pool, although
my husband found it quite cold.

Sent a film/video crew for a shoot in the area, not a good experience! These are
three people who travel a lot and have seen the best and the worst travel has to
offer. Hotel itself is just OK. There is no elevator and the rooms smell like
chlorine from the pool., staff is another story — they were rude rather than
helpful. Treated crew members like they just walked in off the street and were
trying to steal access to the internet. Didn't ask if they were guests, just
assumed they weren't (and that was after they were there a couple days). The
community is welcoming, but I would recommend you select other accommodations.

I wonder if this is the same hotel that was reviewed on Tripadvisor? I reserved
two nights there because I had Air Miles for one night. Then I read the reviews
and had regrets that I did not read them first.
Anyway, we drove to Vernon and were welcomed by the desk clerk. When she saw I
was handicapped, she moved our reservation to the ground floor. The room was
ample size, with a cramped bathroom. I think it would have been better if they
had not separated the sink area. All was very clean. I found the mattress too
hard, my husband thought it was perfect. I really didn't like the pillows.
A few minutes after entering, we got a call from the desk asking if all was
okay.
We did not try the pool but were assured it was heated.
The included Continental Breakfast was fine--cereals, muffins, hot toast,
hard-boiled eggs, make your own waffles, juice, milk, coffee. Not much room at
the self-serve, but we got by.
Next door fast foods
Very quiet neighborhood both nights, but a couple of guests banged their way out
early in the morning.
In general, a satisfactory stay.

The room reeked of smoke and musty air. It took a good 3 hours to warm the room
up with the outdated heater. Both beds were well worn out and unlevel leaving
our heads on a downhill slope. Having a shower...smoky shower curtain + water =
disgusting! The plug-ins are so old and worn out that plugging in any electrical
devices (curling irons, blow dryers etc.) is very frustrating. The plugs will
NOT stay in the wall no matter what you do... The room is a decent size but the
bathrooms are so small and in need of TLC - moldy caulking, flithy tubs and
walls. For the price, we've all agreed to stay elsewhere to avoid the unclean
Villager Inn.
